SUNFLOWER SEED COOKIES (recipe from my sister Kathy)

These are perhaps my all-time favorite cookies. The recipe is LARGE; it makes at least 6 dozen cookies.

INGREDIENTS:
1) 2 Cups butter
2) 2 Cups White Sugar
3) 2 Cups Brown Sugar

4) 4 eggs
5) 2 teaspoons vanilla
6) 3 Cups all-purpose white flour
7) 1 teaspoon salt
8) 2 teaspoons baking soda
9) 2 teaspoons baking powder

10) 4 Cups Oatmeal ("quick" oats work fine)
11) 12 ounces Butterscotch chips
12) 1 Cup coconut
13) 1 Cup sesame seeds
14) 1 Cup sunflower seeds (hulled)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) With an electric mixer, cream together ingredients 1, 2, and 3.
2) Add ingredients 4 through 9 and blend thoroughly.
3) Mix in ingredients 10 through 14.
4) Chill for several hours.
5) Bake cookies at 300 - 325 degrees for about 15 minutes.

I like them slightly chewy rather than crispy.
